Cold calling

Cold Calling, Isn’t that very ’70’s? Where’s my yellow pages and dial up telephone?

Prospecting is creating warm leads and having fun exercising those creative brain cells.

Have some respect! Respect yourself – you are offering a job or service. And respect the person who answers the ‘phone or is receiving the email. Please don’t try to ‘get round them’, be smarter than that. Give them something that makes them want to find out more.

Do you know enough about the client – is your offer reflective of their needs? How are you aligned? Is your contact going to be seen as USEFUL, RELEVANT, MEANINGFUL?

Do your homework, only offer something that they will want, offer it simply and concisely, and if the purpose of the contact is to get a meeting – don’t give everything away on the email, leaving them with no need to see you.
