Good ole fashioned service

Whilst visiting Ulladulla coffee shop back in April, My 10-year-old says, ‘this bacon and egg roll is the best’ and rated it out of 10.

Back ‘home’ from that moment on each week we go out for a ‘one on one’ and do some spelling and have a bacon and egg roll and he gets out his notes and rates it. The rating is 100% taste not customer service or ambience. (Which, to me is important, we’re always banging on about customer service, I wonder if really its nothing to him or if he came across a rude place that he would rate it lower…?).

On a trip a few weeks ago, during the break, we were back in Ulladulla in the same coffee shop and he gets out the ratings list and shows George, the owner, how he rated compared to the others. The range is mainly 2/10 to 8/10.

There, at the top, holding its poll position is

One *** Ulladulla coffeeshop 11/10.

And then Mr 10 year old gave the new rating.

today’s rating *** 11/10***

Judge E says’ The first bite was a mix of crust, bacon and egg- with others you get a lot of bread and no filling.

With this, after that first lovely bite you know the bacon is good, the egg is good, and the roll is good- I officially call that a bacon and egg roll’.

I wonder what your customers say about your product or service? How can you make sure you keep high standards?
